The 5 Benefits of Magnesium Taurate

Magnesium Taurate

Magnesium taurate benefits the heart. It has prominent antihypertensive and cardioprotective effects, which researchers attribute to its potent antioxidant activity. It is used as a nutritional supplement to improve cardiovascular health. It also offers other benefits, including improved sleep and better glucose management. However, despite its many advantages and safety, it’s not commonly prescribed.

5 Benefits of Magnesium Taurate:

  1. Neurological benefits: Magnesium taurate may have neuroprotective properties.
  2. Lowers high blood pressure: Has restorative effects on normalizing blood pressure.
  3. Sleep support: May improve sleep quality by regulating neurotransmitters involved in sleep.
  4. Glycemic control: Research indicates that magnesium taurate may help manage blood sugar levels.
  5. Anticataract benefits: A 2016 study found that topical liposomal magnesium taurate delays cataract formation. It’s not known if the oral form has similar benefits for eye health.

In my clinical practice, I use MAGNESIUM TAURATE by Cardiovascular Research. Each capsule contains 125 mg of magnesium taurate. Take one capsule daily for prevention and up to 3 capsules twice daily for treatment of chronic cardiovascular diseases.

Adding vitamin B6 can improve the therapeutic properties of magnesium taurate. Vitamin B6 is a coenzyme involved in over 150 biochemical reactions in the body. Take 100-200 mg of B6 (as
pyridoxine HCL) once daily.

Magnesium Taurate is an underused, safe supplement with many health benefits, especially when paired with vitamin B6.
